New Horizons Medical, a growing and expanding outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment facility, is hiring a Medical Director!
Qualifications
Medical degree from accredited medical school; license in good standing to practice by Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine; experience in addiction medicine.
Duties
The Medical Director shall, without limitation, be responsible for the coordination, delivery, and supervision of clinical health services at the practice, including providing care to patients directly; shall oversee all medical staffing decisions; shall help establish and maintain standards of patient care in compliance with all local, state, federal or other applicable regulations; and shall, in conjunction with the Behavioral Health Director and other senior management personnel, participate in the planning, development, implementation, and coordination of the practice’s patient care programs and policies to meet community health care needs. The Medical Director shall further be required to participate in a multi-disciplinary peer review panel to ensure standards of care are being met by staff providers.
Supervision Received
Performance is subject to review by the Board of Directors.
Supervision Required
No direct supervision, non-medical actions are directed by the Board of Directors and Program Manager.
Authority
To establish and direct programs and policies regarding the medical care of patients; management of medical staff; all authority and decision-making ability of staff physicians, hear appeals regarding discharge of patients.
