About the team
The psychiatric nurse practitioners at New Horizons Medical are a dedicated and experienced team of healthcare professionals who specialize in providing comprehensive mental health care. Led by our experienced clinical director, Linda Ploude, our behavioral health team brings a wealth of expertise and experience to our clinic. They work closely with our patients to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions, including addiction. Our nurse practitioners take a holistic approach, addressing both the physical and emotional aspects of mental health. They provide personalized care plans, including medication management, psychotherapy, and other evidence-based interventions, to help patients manage their mental health challenges. With their compassionate and patient-centered approach, our psychiatric nurse practitioners play a crucial role in supporting our patients on their path to recovery and helping them achieve a healthier and happier life.
Position type:
Part-time (1-3 days/week; 8-24 hours per week)
Location:
- Brookline, Framingham, Haverhill, Lynn, or Quincy in Massachusetts
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide individual psychiatric assessments and treatment;
- Participate in client follow-up sessions;
- Provide medication management;
- Work closely with the lead Psychiatrist for coordination of care, training, and supervision.
Requirements:
- Board Certification in adult/Family psychiatry (or being eligible) in the state of Massachusetts;
- Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine;
- Required experience PMHNP: 2 years;
- Master’s or Doctors degree in the related field;
- Valid Medical License and DEA;
- Ability or willingness to work with an EMR system.
Competencies
- Experience working with diverse adult client populations;
- Experience working with addictions and substance use disorders;
- Experience and/or aptitude in working with electronic medical record systems;
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work proactively in a team environment;
- Proficiency with computers, technology, and telemedicine;
- Ability to effectively communicate with any type patients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to meet deadlines and accomplish assigned responsibilities;
- Exemplary professionalism and respect for confidentiality.
Emergency Situations:
Is aware that in order to respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, any staff member may be assigned duties that differ from those in the job description, or may be assigned temporarily to a different location or schedule.
Understands that all staff should have a Personal Emergency Plan in place to best respond to his/her job responsibilities should health center emergency arise.
