New Horizons Medical, Inc. was founded in 2009 in Brookline, Massachusetts by Dr. Yanants Antonevich. Originally from Latvia, Dr. Antonevich studied, volunteered, and worked in many countries around the globe. He was a highly professional and compassionate person who dedicated his life to helping people in need. He was among the first responders at Ground Zero on September 11, 2001 in New York City; he volunteered in Haiti after the devastating earthquake of January 12, 2010; he joined the medical professionals aiding the people of Ecuador after the disastrous earthquake of April 16, 2016.
Dr. Antonevich’s plan is a great success. New Horizons Medical, Inc. has grown to six locations across Massachusetts. Thousands of people are being helped to fight drug and alcohol dependence. It is highly respected in the addiction medicine industry for the quality of care provided in treating substance abuse disorders, mental health disorders, and psychiatric disorders.
Dr. Antonevich passed away unexpectedly on October 26, 2018 in Burlington, Massachusetts due to a rare post-operative sepsis. After this devastating event, his wife, Oxana Antonevich, took on the role of New Horizons Medical’s president, championing his vision and the core values of her beloved husband.
Dr. Antonevich’s legacy continues to this day: the adored father of two boys; the wonderful and loving husband; the compassionate friend; the learned and talented professional; the honest and open man; and the wonderful example of a Human Being.
