What is addiction abuse?

Drug addiction is a chronic, often relapsing brain disorder that causes complulsive drug seeking and use, despite harmful consequences to the drug addict and those around them.

Treatments are available

New Horizon Medical offers an office based opiate treatment program. Specifically trained staff provide treatment, including Suboxone and counseling for those addicted to opiates.

Buprenorphine treatment

Physicians who treat opioid addiction also have the option of utilizing medication assisted treatment and the most common medication used in the treatment of opioid dependence today in buperenorphine (Suboxone).

In our Outpatient Alcohol Dependency program patients will work closely with medical providers and mental health counselors. We utilize Naltrexone and Vivitrol medications as a part of our comprehensive program. Buprenorphine, Suboxone, Sublocade

Buprenorphine is an FDA-approved medication for the treatment of opioid use disorders. Naltrexone and Vivitrol

Naltrexone, administered orally or via injection (Vivitrol), has proven effective and is clinically indicated for both Alcohol and Opioid Use Disorders. Vivitrol, administered monthly, is not a narcotic nor a habit-forming medication. It contains an opioid blocker that can greatly reduce the risks of both alcohol and opioid use disorders. Psychiatric Disorders Treatment

Chemical dependency can often coexist with other mental and psychiatric disorders. We recognize many of our patients benefit from a multidisciplinary and holistic treatment approach. Get back your freedom by enrolling in an addiction treatment program

Need a primary care referral?

Some insurances require a referral from your primary care PCP to see a specialist. You can call your PCP directly and ask for it or call our office to help with this process. If you decide to do it yourself, please give your primary care provider our NPI 1487983342.

Confidentiality and HIPAA

Alcohol abuse treatment is most effective when you feel comfortable speaking with your provider. At New Horizons Medical, we protect your privacy and confidentiality by following professional ethics as well as state and federal laws. No information about your treatment at NHM is available to anyone outside our organization unless permitted by your writing permission. This includes NHM personnel, parents and family members, friends, or any outside agencies

Exceptions to Confidentiality

If you choose New Horizons Medical to bill your insurance for appointments, the minimal necessary information will be shared with covered entities to obtain payment, see the INFORMATION PRIVACY AND HIPAA page for more info.

Another exemption to confidentiality would only apply if we deem it necessary to protect you or someone else from physical harm. This is a legal requirement step for harm prevention. The exception includes, only when legally required and all protocols followed:
