New Horizons Medical is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Ximena Sanchez as its new Chief Medical Officer (CMO) effective January 15th, 2025.
Dr. Sanchez brings a wealth of experience to NHM, with a storied career spanning inpatient and outpatient settings. Her educational background is exemplary, having earned her M.D. from Javeriana University Medical School in Bogota, Colombia, and completing her Psychiatry residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She further specialized by completing the Harvard Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, McLean Hospital, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Sanchez is also board-certified in both Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry.
With over two decades of experience, Dr. Sanchez has held pivotal leadership roles as medical director at an inpatient detoxification and stabilization facilities. Her vast expertise encompasses patient care, research, and teaching, including a part-time appointment as a former Instructor at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Sanchez’s leadership will play a vital role in advancing NHM’s mission to provide compassionate, high-quality care that addresses the unique needs of its diverse patient population. She will oversee medical operations, guide clinical excellence, and spearhead innovative initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
